MOUTOA ART UNION.
LIST OF PRIZE WINNERS. The drawing of the Moutua Art Union took place in the Moutoa Hall last night, under the supervision of Constable Owen. The winners are as follows: Ist Prize: Mrs M. A. Waugh, 117 Shamrock St., Palmerston North £3O 2nd Prize: J. Lee, Moutoa £7 10/3rd Prize: G. 11. liampson, Railway, Linton .... £5 4th Prize: Doreen Morgan, Moutoa, ....... £2 10/sth. Prize: Mrs M. Campbell, Moutoa, £1 (ith Prize: Melva Pigott, Moutoa, £1 7th Prize: Mrs R. Fursdon, Moutoa £1 Bth Prize: 11. W. Jewell, Marotiri £T 9th Prize: F. Bowe Ltd. Co., Marotiri £1
Little Joyce Pigott (Farmers) topped the poll as queen of the carnival, her comimittee having raised £lOl 14/-; Jean Mohekey (Sports) second, £77 0/8; Agnes Eder (Fibre) third, £7O 2/10. In a neat congratulatory speech, Mr D. Gilbert, presented each of the tiny queens with beautiful dolls and thanked all who assisted in the carnival effort. He stated that after paying all expenses a tied balance of. £lßl 1/10 would be at the disposal of the Hall Committee towards liquidating the mortgage on the hall.
Cheers were given for the little queens. Dancing was indulged in by the large gathering present. Prior to the drawing of the art union, Father Christmas presided at a well-laden Christmas tree, and htc school children and other little diics present wore the recipients of toys, followed by supper.
