THE WYLIE CASE.
Til HER YEARS’ IMPKTSON- ✓ .WENT, Wellington, Last .Night. Elizabeth Wylie was found guilty on a charge of procuring abortion, after trials extending over some weeks, and was sentenced to three years' hard labour. Mr justice Ostler said that whilst talcing into consideration the jury s recommendation to mercy, lie could not let such a serious offence pass without imposing a substantial penalty.
Lily Lodge was charged with aiding and abetting, the jury returning a verdict of not guilty.
