FIRE BRIGADE BALL.

The members of the local Volunteer Fire Brigade are to be congra- T tula ted upon the social and financial success of their annual ball, held in the Town Halll.on Tuesday night. The members of the brigade, who, by the way, looked very smart in their new uniforms, are-just as enthusiastic in making a success of a social function as they are in the sterner duties of fire fighting. The hall was tastefully decorated and Superintendent Downes, Secretary Walls and the officers and men left no stone unturned to ciater for the enjoyment of those present, among whom were noticed representatives of the Feilding, Palmerston and Levin brigades. The music was supplied by Larkin’s orchestra and the catering arrangements were in the capable hands of Walls’.
