FAULTY SEWERAGE.

DAMAGE AGAINST BOROUGH COUNCIL. Auckland, December 3. The Compensation Court awarded £2,205 to seven claimants agninst the Northeote Borough Council for depreciation of their properties caused by odours from the septic tanks. Mr Justice Ostler said that the substantial benefit desired from the discontinuance of drainage into the sand on the beach was not great enough to balance the depreciation of the surrounding properties caused by the escape of smells from the tank.
