BOARD’S YTSIT TO MAYAWATI 7 .

W*itli the object of establishing a (dearer understanding regarding policy matters and a better idea of highways requirements, members of the Alain Highways Board yesterday visited Sandon, a conference being hold with representatives of the Manawatu County Council.

The visit is an important one to I he authorities controlling the roads declared main highways, and will do much to smooth the way when highways work of any magnitude is undertaken. The Council asked that its roads he inspected and advice given as to future work on the Bulls-Sandon Section of the highways and also on roads in other parts of the county. It will be remembered that, owing to some engineering difficulties experienced in this county, reconstruction of the main highway from Sandon to the Bulls bridge was suspended until after an inspection by tin* Board or its engineer.
