“HELL’S FOUR HUNDRED.”
A novel and exciting screen plot is to be seen in “Hell’s Four Hundred,” the leading attraction at the Town Hall on Friday and Saturday. It is a tale of the lives of Ne,: York’s “four hundred” who live in the night clubs and such establishments as the. Black Stage Cabaret, the scene of the most dramatic moments in the picture. Margaret Livingstone, Harrison Ford, and Wallace MacDonald have the leading roles. Supporting films are an Imperial comedy entitled “Two Lips in Holland” and the latest Fox News. Prices as usual. A young woman, walking dazedly into a bachelor’s apartment, furnishes the start of the action in “The Narrow Street,” heading Monday’s programme. Matt Moore and Dorothy Devore head the cast in this picture, described as one of the cleverest mystery comedies of the year. Usual prices.
ROYAL PICTURES. Rex Taylor, scenarist of “Skinner’s Dress Suit,” the UniversalJewel coming to the Royal Theatre next Saturday, declares that adapting that : story was the most gratifying task he has ever undertaken. “I’m sure that, the author, Henry Irving Dodge, hadn’t the slightest idea that his famous book w ns eventually to be screened, but whether he had or not, it was written in such a way as to make it the perfect motion picture vehicle.” Reginald Denny is (he star, with Laura La Plnnte as the featured lead. Directed by William A. Seiter, the cast also includes Ben Hendricks, Jr., Arthur Lake, E. J. Ratcliffe, Iledda Hopper, Lionel Brnhm Fronn Hale and Lucille Ward. The Gish' sisters are being welcomed back to the Royal Theatre,' now in “Rornola,” Henry King’s stirring Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer epic production, of George Eliot’s worldfamous novel. Lilian and Dorothy Gish if anything have added to their charm since their last appearance together many months ago. With them is Ronald Column, William H. Powell, who enacts a difficult role in’a highly creditable manner, and a cast of important players.
