ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Wellington, Last Night,
While riding a motor cycle on the Unit Road last night, a young married man, John Archibald Crichton, of Kilbirnie, dazzled by the headlights of an approaching car, struck a stone and crashed heavily to the ground, sustaining severe injuries to the head. 11l was admitted to hospital and is making satisfactory progress. A collision between a motor cycle and a tram ear vesterdjay resulted in Henry Martin, Lower Hntt, and Charles Henry White,' both being admitttd Mo hospital with broken legs. Martin and White were proceeding southwards on a motorcycle in the rear ot the tram, and were on the point of turning, when suddenly another car appeared on the opposite side of the car they were following. The motor cycle struck the tram with terrific force and the man steering the machine was thrown against the front portion of (he. tram, smashing the glass to atoms, whilst, his companion was thrown on to the road. The driver of the tram escaped injury. Auckland, November 17. A dog was responsible for two young men riding motor cycles being upset on a concrete highway and receiving injuries. The dog was struck bv each cycle and in each case the’rider was thrown heavily on the road. One rider was taken home with an injury to his face, while the other was admitted to the hospital with a fractured leg. Grcymouth, Last Night.
