HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
Once again Show comes round —with lovers of (lowers fearing the weather all the time. Will the roses be at their best, and will the sweet peas be ready? Well, whether the weather is kind or not the Show is fixed for Thursday, 25th inst.
There are several good specials on the schedule. No. 91 is a collection of cut blooms, which is included to really take the place of the garden classes by encouraging the groAving of a good range of flowers. Owing to limited space in the temporary Town Hall this year, the collection is limited to 12 varieties. This should give more entries, and the prizes are 10s and ss. It is hoped that there will be more entries this year for the Society’s trophy for sweet peas. Why shouldn’t there be a score of entries for a 5 guinea prize? There is also the rose trophy, for three kinds of roses, two of each.
Those who have not. roses or sweet peas, many have cut blooms, vegetables or fruit.' If no fruit or flowers, there are' the sections for cookery, home industries and decorative.
Schedules and entry forms may be obtained from Mr .T. Walls’ or Mr Grady’s.
