INCREASED POSTAL FACILITIES.

At Thursday night's meeting of (he Foxton Chamber of Commerce, Mr D. Christie urged that the local postmaster be given some assistance in holding a public meeting in the Oroua Downs district with a view to obtaining further subscribers to the local telephone exchange. The meeting organised by the Chamber in the Moutoa district had, been a decided success, he said, and Mr Newton was hopeful of even better results from Oroua Downs. The Chamber as a body agreed to attend the mecling.and Mr Christie was appointed to confer with the postmaster as to a suitable date for the meeting.
