MANAWATU TENNIS ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of tennis dub; ilelegates was belli at Palmerston X. lasi night.. The following clubs were represented: Palmerston North (H. N. Watson, C. T. Salmon, .7. Grant ami R. V. Hooper), Northern (R. 11. Billons), West End (A. E. Blackbourn), Feilding (A. 11. Maguire, and N. S. Tankersley), Terrace End (C. A. Anderson and E. V. King), Foxton (R. McMurray), Longburn (C. C. Ilills and E. L. Jewell), Levin (L. H. Arcus), Bulls (T. L. Mansell and I. 11. Cornwall). An apology for absence was received from Mr Fox (secretary of the Palmerston N. Club). Mr H. N. Watson explained the object of the meeting and of the proposed Association Avhich the meeting Avas called to form. It Avas decided that the Association be called the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association, and that it affiliate Avith the New Zealand LaAvn Tennis Association. Rules were adopted along the lines of those of other associations. The number of the management committee, Avhich is the executive body of the association, was fixed at seven members, in addition to the secretary' and treasurer, four of the seven to represent clubs within a radius of five miles of Palmerston N., and three to represent clubs outside that area. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. H The following officers were elect'd!: President: Mr 11. N. Watson; vice-presidents: Dr, E. C. Barnett (P.N.), Dr. S. J. Thompson (Levin), Mr A. E. Blackbourn (Bulls); secretary: Mr J. Grant; treasurer: Mr R. H. Billens; management committee: Messrs C. T. Salmon, R. V. Hooper, C. A. Anderson and C. G. Hills- (P.N. area); and Messrs A. 11. Maguire, R. McMurray, and F. F.-Rnlfe (outside area).
