SWIMMING BATHS CARNIVAL
The usual weekly euchre tournament held hv the Fibre Committee, will he continued this evening. The Sports . Committee’s weekly euchre tournament will be held in Gradv's rooms to-morrow evening.
The Fibre Committee’s grand concert to lie held on Thursday evening, will include graceful poi dances and thrilling hakas hv Maori talent. A euchre party was held in Grady’s rooms on Monday night for the Citizens’ Queen candidate. Prizes were won by Mrs Smith and Mr Hutchins /’first) and Mr Pearson and Mrs Mounsey (second). The executive wish it to he known that the Carnival closes on Tuesday, 23rd of November, at 7.45 p.ni. Anyone who has not contributed to this worthy cause will have an opportunity of doing so in the next few weeks. Donations can he given to Queens, or sent direct to the organiser (Mrs Pearson). A shop day was held on Saturday for the Fibre Queen enndiadie, and was a great success. Thanks are duo to those who so generously helped by sending goods, etc. The following were successful in competitions: —bag flour, Mr D. Christie; biscuit barrel, Mr Phillips; nightdress, F. Broad; water jug, Lola Chaffev; supper, H. Dawson; dinner. J. Broad; bed jacket, A. Smith; cake, B. dagger; tea cosy, P. Lungquist; ladies’ neck-tie, Mrs Arcus. A dance was held by the Foxton Hockey girls on Saturday night for the Sports Queen candidate. All present spent agf enjoyable time.
