BAND OF HOPE

There was a good attendance of children and adults present at the monthly meeting of the combined Band of Hope, held in the Presbyterian Sunday Schoolroom last night. AHs Jno. Ross presided. Mrs Tongs led the meeting in prayer and Mrs Capt. Stone gave a most interesting address and object lesson on “two glasses.” The programme was a lengthy and enjoyable one, the following children taking part: Mollie and Rosie Downes, vocal duet; Arthur and Gordon Stone, readings; Kathleen Leech, Dorothy and Joyce Rimmer, Rona Coughtrey, Ivy and Lexie Tollison, May McKnigiit and Millie Downes, recitations; Maud and Madge King vocal duet; Rosie Munn (2), Ula Thomson and Phyllis Tongs pianoforte selections. The meeting closed with the temperance hymn and chorus, prayer and benediction (Mrs Stone).
