Mr A. P. Bennett at present Principal of the Staff Division of the General Post Office, has been appointed to the position of Chief Inspector of the Post and Telegraph Department, which position recently became vacant on the promotion of Mr M. B. Esson to the Second Assistant Secretaryship. Mr Ben-nett-joined the service as a messenger boy in Masterton in 1890.
