Eketahuna, October 7. Yesterday morning a young woman, Alice Sykes, was leaning over a. range in her home at Rongomai, when her clothes caught fire. She rushed outside to get her father’s help, but he could only put her in a hole in the orchard to extinguish the flames. She was terribly burned, and subsequently died from the injuries in the Pahiatua Hospital.
