TIMARU-CHRISTCHURCH ROAD RACE.

Christchurch, October 4,

, A double success was scored by R. Laskey (Southbrook) in the Timarn-Christchurch road race on Saturday. He won the race from the six minutes mark, and also made the fastest time. For a great part of the journey the men rode through a drizzling rain and the roads for the whole journey were muddy. Lasky won by about a mile and ahalf. The prize for the fastest time, which may not be taken by the actual winner of the race, goes to H. G. Watson, 1 , who finished tenth from scratch. Wlatson won the race in 1923. R. F. Manks (Christchurch) ran 2nd, M. E. Mahan (Christchurch) 3rd and S. McAnn (New Plymouth) 4th. Lasky’s time was shrs 48 min. 38 secs.
