MR. HARRIS MEETS HIS CONSTITUENTS.

AND IS ACCORDED UNBOUNDED CONFIDENCE.

Auckland, Sept. 30

Air A. Harris, ALP. for Waitemata, delivered a political address at Northcote. Commenting on the Prime Afinister’s recommendation that, he should go home, he said he would do so when told to do so by his constituents. He was willing to submit himself to the electors, and vfas satisfied he would be returned by an overwhelming majority. These and subsequent remarks were received with applause. He did not say the Government had abused the power of its large majority, but it was a danger. He said, the) committee set up to report on the motor ’but regulations mas so composed that it- was never doubted it would report in favour of the regulations., He alleged that the Takapuna Tram and Ferry Company had a pull with the Government, and was persuaded it would grant them a monopoly of the traffic. He was pledged to vote for the Government on a no-confidence motion, but if legislation were brought down ho did not think right he would vote against it. The meeting passed a resolution reaffirming unbounded confidence in Air Harris as member for Waitemata, and expressed entire approval and endorsement of his action.
