FOXTON UNITED SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

COMMITTEE MEETING.

A committee meeting of the Foxton United Sports Association was held in the Racing Club office last night, presided over by the President (Mr W. T. Jeweli). Also present were Messrs S. Austin, C. A. Pearson, P. J. Jack, R. Bryant, W. E. Barber, W. Jewell jnr., W. Ross, S. Barber, E. Parkin, G. Alexader, C. E. Billings, R. Hornblow, D. R. Barron* H. Hutchins and the secretary J[Mr F. Rimmer). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs D. R. Ogilvy, J. Thomson and D. Christie. CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows: From the N.Z. Railway Department notifying special train arrangements for sports day.—Received, the matter of providing a suitable bus service from the south was left in the hands of the town committee.

From Messrs Rogers and Hall, Wellington, notifying that the Association’s, calico poster advertising the sports meeting, had been placed on the balcony of the Albert Hotel, and also stating that a number of Wellington riders had signified their intention of participating in the meeting. From the Otaki Motor Cycle Club, applying for tiie hire of the Association’s advertising block. —Granted, hire fee to be 10/-. From the Foxton Racing Club, granting the Association the use of chairs, tables, etc. on sports day.— Received with thanks. From the Wanganui Motor Cycle Club, thanking the Association for agreeing to assist with the reliability trial from Wanganui to Wellington to-day, and stating that the first rider should reach Foxton at 2.45 p.m. —Messrs F. Rimmer, C. E. Billings and W. Ross were appointed checkers. GENERAL. Messrs Palmer and Page, of Palmerston N., were appointed handicappers for the sports meeting, the secretary being instructed to notify the N.Z.A.C.U. accordingly. Mi 1 E. J. Murphy’s tender for the selling of race books was accepted. Mr P. J. Jack reported that the lap scoring board was now complete. —The erection of same was left in Mr Jack’s hands.

■Mr Alexander reported that the matter of providing an ambulance for the sports had been arranged. The usual compliment to the chair terminated the meeting.
