“THE ROAD TO GLORY.
May McAvoy gives) a fine dramatic performance in “The Road to Glory,” heading the list at the Town Hall to-night. This is an original story by Howard Hawkes who also directed the picture. It deals dramatically with the part chance plays in human lives and tells the experiences of Judith Allen, played by Miss McAvoy, whom chance topples from the pedestal of youthful ccstacy to grim despair. In addition to the star fine roles are portrayed by Ford Sterling, Rockliffe Fellowes and Leslie Fenton. Comedy: “A Flaming Affair,” and the latest News. Usual prices. On'Monday Nazim ova will head the programme in her latest film entitled “The Redeeming Sin,” a drama set in the underworld of Paris. “Suffering Shakespeare,” comedy; latest Pathe Gazette. Prices as usual. ROYAL PICTURES. Two of the screen’s foremost comedians are to be seen in “Under Western Skies,” an Edward Sedgwick Universal Jewel production to be screened at the Royal Theatre to-night. They are Eddie Gribbon and Harry Todd. Norman Kerry has the leading male role with Anne Cornwall playing opposite him. Others in the cast are Kitlileen Key, George Fawcett, Charles K. French, William Steele, Frank Lnnning and John Peters. The “Samson of the Circus” bicycle will be given away to-night. “The Scarlet. Saint,” a highly dramatic picture featuring Lloyd Highes and Mary Astor will be screened on Monday. The picture was set against the picturesque background of New Orleans during Mardi Gras week and the story deals with the romance of a young American girl who is forced to marry a foreign nobleman in order to save her sweetheart from gaol.
