VALEDICTORY.
A farewell party was tendered Mr and Mrs Mohekey and family at Moutoa on Wednesday evening, prior to them taking up their residence in Foxton. There; was a large attendance of residents present and dancing was indulged in until supper time when Mr S. Barbel’ called on Mr T. Tregill to make presentations, consisting of seful pieces of furniture, to Mtesdames Mohekey snr. ancl jnr., and Mrs Morgan. In making the presentations, Mr Tregill stated that the family had resided in Moutoa'for the past-20 years and were held in the highest esteem by the settlers. Mrs Mohekey was always ready, to assist anyone in time of sickness and trouble. On behalf of the settlers he wished the family every happiness in Foxton. All assembled then joined in singing “For they are Jolly Good Fellows," followed by cheers. The tokens of esteem and good wishes were feelingly acknowledged by the recipients. During the evening Mrs S. Barber contributed an acceptable vocal item, accompanied by Mrs Saxby. Dancing was indulged in until midnight, the music being supplied by Messrs Bancks and Milner.
