ROYAL PICTURES,
“Clicking Hoofs,” Truart’s latest western production, which comes to the Royal theatre on Wednesday is most aptly titled. There is a wealth of fast and furious riding of tho most thrilling order throughout a story which teems with epcciting climaxes and unusual dramatic episodes. John Wells, latest western film star, demonstrates his outstanding ability as a fast and agile rider. His stunts before the camera surpass any that have so far been recorded for the screen, and immediately classify him with the greatest of cowboy stars. Lon Chaney in the mystery film “The Monster,” hands out more thrills to the foot of film than any actor in pictures yet produced. Others in the cast are Johnny Arthur and Gertrude Olmstead. To be screened on Friday night. Extra: “Wlolve's of the North.” “KING ON MAIN STREET.” Affairs of State bored him. A pretty girl, a chance to wander free for a few hours held an irresistible appeal, so when his ministers wanted him to sign a bond financing his country, he could' not be found. But the wily financier knew where to find the king, yet he did not tell the bewildered ministers, until next morning. You will enjoy the discomfiture of Adolphe Menjou as the king, the morning after a visit to Coney Island in “The King on Main .Street” at the. Town Hall to-morrow
(Wednesday) evening. Bessie Love and Greta Nissen are in the cast. Ollier pictures on the same programme are a comedy “Polly Voo,” Screen Snapshots and News. Prices as usual.
