SOLICITOR THREATENED WITH ARREST.

— r AN AUCKLAND COURT INCIDENT. Auckland, September 10. George Murphy, a fisherman, was fined £2O 10s and costs for using a seine net in a prohibited area, the Hauraki Gulf. During the hearing Mr. Selwyn Mays, counsel for defendant, objected to the prosecutor for the Marine Department leading evidence given by the inspector. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., said that the prosecutor was conducting his ease in a proper manner. ■ On Mr. Mays pressing the point, the Magistrate threatened to place him under arrest and also to line him. The incident, however, went no further.
