PRIMARY SCHOOL FOOTBALL
FOXTON 25 SHANNON NIL,
The Shannon Primary School football team journeyed to Foxton this morning to try conclusions with the local team. Foxton had no difficulty in defeating the visitors, and the game was never in doubt. The final score was 25 to nil. Mr. T. McDonald refereed. The local team was as follows: — Robinson, Newson (2), Hirini, Kennedy, Easton, Francis, Death, Chrystall, Reader, Gardener, Matthews, Coley, Graham and Alexander. The following scored tries: —C. Newson five, Robinson and H. Newson one each. Francis and II." Newson converted one try each. At the conclusion of the game the visitors were entertained to refreshments at the school, by the girls. Mr. F. A. Mason (headmaster) welcomed the Shannon boys and Mr. Morgan replied. . It is now almost a certainty that Foxton will win the Austin Banner. They, have not yet lost a game this season. . Next Saturday a Primary Schools rep. match, North v. South will he played at Levin. FIXTURES. SATURDAY, 18TH SEPTEMBER. SENIOR: NASH CUP FINAL. Shannon v. \Vaiulerers at Levin, 2.50 p.m. JUNIOR.: LICENSED VICTUALLERS FINAL. . Wieraroa v. Miranui at O'taki, 2.50 p.m. THIRDS: Weraroa v. Shannon at Shannon, 2.50 p.m. Wanderers v. Foxton at Prouse’s Paddock, 1.30 p.m. FOURTHS: Levin D. 11.5. v. Shannon at Shannon, 1.30 p.m. Foxton v. Foxton D.H.S. at Foxton, 1.30 p.m. A number of local Rugby enthusiasts journeyed to Palmerston N. this afternoon to witness the Manawhenua v. Wellington rep. match.
