CONCEALMENT OF BIRTH.
SAMOAN GIRLS IN TROUBLE. Auckland, September 1. Charges of killing her female child, thereby committing manslaughter, and .of disposing, of the dead body of her child to conceal the fact that she had been delivered of it, were preferred against a Samoan girl, Lucy. Stowers,, in the Police-Court.
After hearing the ; evidence, the Magistrate dismissed the manslaughter charge. Accused pleaded guilty to the other... charge and was ■committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
The Magistrate suppressed the evidence. The Magistrate also delivered his verdict in regard to the* inquest on the child. He found that the cause of death was inattention at birth, n • ~ r .
