ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROYAL THEATRE. BIG DOUBLE PROGRAMME. To-morrow night (Wednesday) the Royal Theatre promises an exceptionally fine programme consisting of vaudeville and pictures. The vaudeville part of the programme is headed by Sam Stern, who appeared at the Royal- Theatre some months back, since which time he has got together a company consisting of eight members who will give the audience the latest in grand opera, good clean 'comedy, humorous songs, and the latest jazz numbers. The “Auckland Star” says: A clean show, bright and sparkling. The finest of its kind in New "Zealand.”

The picture portion of the programme is represented by a fine Tiffany production, starring Jacqueline Logan, and Edmund Burns, entitled “Out of the s Storm.” The story starts interestingly in a newspaper offilce and goes along at a rapid pace to an unexpected and dramatic finish. This double programme should draw a full house. For further particulars see advertisement in this issue. “THE BEST PEOPLE.” “The Best People” at the Town Hall to-morrow evening is a snappy comedy drama of high life in New York. The atmosphere of the best people, their inside life and the thrills that they try to get out of life are all the things that you can see in the picture, in wliic-h the lending roles are played by Warner Baxter, Esther Ralston, Kathlyn Williams and Margaret Livingstone. A comedy, “The Rivals,” Scenic and the latest Australasian News will also he screened.'Prices as usual. Never a story like it, never so much hectic excitement crammed into six reels of action and laughs as in “The Speed Spook,” with Johnny Hines at the wheel, to be srecned on Saturday night.
