ATTEMPTED SUICIDE

DISCOVERED BY DAUGHTER.. Wailii, August 25. Mrs Jane Erwin, wife of Thomas Erwin, attempted to take her own life in the early hours of yesterday morning. She was missed from her bedroom, and a search made by her daughter resulted in her finding her mother hanging over a brioked-iii copper. She pulled her. out, and was horrified to find her mother covered with blood, with several gashes in her throat. *The unfortunate woman was conveyed to the hospital, where sli’e lies in a critical condition. Mrs Erwin was a victim of the epidemic of 1918, and, together with the loss of her. only son from the epidemic, had never recovered normal health.
