SWIMMING BATHS CARNIVAL

A concert will he held in the Royal Theatre this evening in aid of the Citizens’ Queen candidate. A real good programme has been arranged, particulars of which elsewhere in this issue, %

A reminder is given of the crib tournament, to be held in Perreau’s rooms to-morrow evening in aid. of the Citizens’ Queen candidate. Good prizes and supper. Oil Saturday a shop day will be held in aid of f lic Fibre Queen candidate. Donations of goods will be received with thanks.

A euchre party was held iu Hamer’s rooms on Tuesday evening, in aid of the Fibre Queen candidate. There was a large attendance and the prizes-were won as follows. Ladies, Mrs Ilamer; gents, Mr Edwards. The second prize for the ladies was won by Mrs Small while Mr Davey annexed the gents second prize. A box of chocolates drawn during the evening was won by Miss Joyce Fuller. ... I A 500 tournament was held in the Plunket room yesterday afterno’on for the Farmers’ Queen, candidate. All present enjoyed themselves. Mrs Pearson won the first prize and tbe “booby” prize'went to Miss Hoffman. A fountain pen was drawn for and was won by Mrs Cowley. The position of the Queen candidates is as follows:—Fibre, Citizens, Farmers, Sports.
