. Janet Milne Chisholm (aged 23 years), a resident of Roslyn, was found dead last night as the result of inhaling gas. At an inquest a verdict was returned of suicide while of' temporarily unsound mind.
Albert Rogers, a married man, aged 64 years, suffered a broken leg and an injured spine through being buried in a fall of coal in the Kaitangata mine. Palmerston North, August 22.
Eric Charles Stairs, a railway porter aged 20,- was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday suffering from injuries to his shoulder. The hospital authorities report that Stairs was .knocked down by an incoming train, being caught by ones of the passing vans. His condition is reported to be satisfactory. Auckland, August 22.
David Leslie Manson, married, a railway ganger residing at Penrose, was knocked down by an engine at the Parnell tunnel at 11 o’clock yesterday morning. He was admitted to the hospital suffering from a broken leg and serious head injuries, from the effects of which he died to-day.
