ALL SAINTS’ CHILDREN’S BALL.
A DECIDED SUCCESS
The children's fancy dress ball, held in the temporary Town Hall last night, was ..a great success. There was a large gathering of children, dressed in pretty and novel costumes. The dancing was commenced with a grand, march, and flic floor was subsequently occupied by the children until 10 o’clock. Miss Scott of Palmerston North, damp'd and sang “Just a Powder Puff,” and later in the evening gave an exhibition of a Russian dance, both items being encored. The Rev. W. H. Walton and Messrs Trueman and Mason officiated as M’s.C. and attended to the welfare and .enjoyment of the children.
The supper, which was in the hands of the Ladies’ Guild, under the direction of Mrs Walton, left nothing to be desired. After supper, dancing was resumed by the children when radiant and happy, and not a little tired they retired to allow the grownups to take the floor. Thanks are due to Mrs Pearson and Mr. George who supplied the music, and to Mr Trueman for his services.
