FOXTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

COMMITTEE MEETING,

A committee meeting of the Foxton Horticultural Society was held in Ross’ Rooms on Tuesday night, presided over by the President (Mr. D. Christie). Also present were Messrs. W. 11. Walton, Peryman, W. Nye, Mno. Ross, J. Ross and Mesdames Barr, McMurray, Heasman, Procter, Ogilvy and. the secretary (Airs Moore). Apologies for absence wore received from Mr. and Mrs E. J. Murphy, Mr. P. Easton, and Miss Ross. The president extended a welcome to Mrs Ogilvy, a new member. The secretary reported that the vases ordered last meeting had come to hand. The eight dozen tin vases are being made locally.

A letter was received from Mrs. W. M. Clark, of Levin, intimating that she would he pleased to judge the decorativeseetion at the Spring Show. —Received.

The following stewards were appointed for the forthcoming Show: —Sections A and B and special classes: Miss Ncylon: Section C: Miss Hughes; Section D: Mrs. P. Easton; Section E: Mr. E. Murphy; Section F: Mrs. A. Baker; Section G ; Mr. D. Wliibley; Section H: Mesdames F. Proctor and D. Ogilvy; Section I and J: Mrs W. Trueman; door-keepers: Messrs. James Ross and D. Wjhibley. It was resolved to ask the Foxton Silver Band to play for the show. It. was decided that the men’s committee meet at the hall the afternoon and evening before the show to erect the tables. Arrangements for a musical programme on •show, night were left in the hands of the President. A cake stall will be under the charge of Mesdames Jno. Ross and Heasman. Mr. R. Warwick was elected a member of the Society. The following further donations have been received by the secretary of the local Horticultural Society: —Mr. A. S. Easton £2 2s, Mr. Ogilvy £1 Is, Palmerston North Drapers Association £1 Is, Mr. J. M. Thompson, Mrs Poole, Mr. Clirystall, Mr. Yeo, Mr. A. Ross, Airs Moore 10s. 6d each, Air. Nye ss, Airs Alurphy 2s 6d, Airs Barr 7s 6d.
