SWIMMING BATHS CARNIVAL.

This evening the Fibre Queen Committee will hold their weekly Euchre Party, in Hamer’s Sample Rooms. To-morrow afternoon the Farmers’ Queen Committee will hold an “Afternoon” in the Plunket Room. Competitions, afternoon tea, etc. To-morrow evening a dance will be held in the Masonic liall by the Citizens’ Queen Committee. Music by Hori George. Saturday of this week is the date for the Sports’ Shop Day. A sponge cake (butter) competition has been arranged, and good prizes for Ist and 2nd awards are offered. A dance was held in the Masonic liall on Friday night for the Fibre Queen candidate, there being a good attendance. A very pleasant time was spent. A dance was held in the Masonic liall on Saturday night for the Farmers Queen candidate, an enjoyable time being spent by a number of dancers. The Shop Day proved a very profitable proposition, and thanks are due to those who so kindly contributed toward its success. Competitions were won by Mr. Woodroofe, sheep 85Albs; Miss T. Heasman, dinner; Miss Moore, bacon; spices, Mrs Sutton; Mr. A. Evans, pig. The sponge cake competitions were woil by Mrs Powell and Mrs J. Coley, respectively. On Thursday night the Fibre Committee promise the local public a real good entertainment, when the Fibre Committee Review Co. will make their first appearance before a local audience in the Royal Theatre. An excellent programme of varied items has been arranged, particulars of which will appear in cur next issue. New and snappy songs are listed in the programme' and the concert promises to be something out of the ordinary. The costuming of the company has been given a good deal of consideration and a real bright show can be anticipated. Prices are right: 1/6 and 1/-, children under 12, 3d; so be there. Don’t forget it’s at the Royal on Thursday.
