SWIMMING BATHS CARNIVAL

To-morrow evening, in the Masonic Hall, the Citizens’ Queen Committee will hold an.old and presenttime dance. The music will be supplied by Mr. Jenson. The prices of admission are very moderate. To-night the Fibre Queen weekly euchre party will be held in Hamer’s Sample Rooms. It will be noted that in addition to the prizes for both lady and gent, an aggregate prize has been instituted for the whole season. The Farmers’ Committee announce an “afternoon” in the Plunket Room on Wednesday of next week. The Fibre Committee will hold a concert in the Royal Theatre on Thursday of next week. A most successful shop day was held on Saturday for the Citizens’ Queen candidate. A dance was also held in the evening, a good number being present and an ejoyable time was spent by all present. The results of the competitions were as follows: —Chocolates, Mr K. Robinson; boudoir cap, Mrs T. Fuller; Sunday tea, Mr N. Dunn; man’s scarf, Mr. A. Smith; dinner, Mrs Anderson; sheep (5711b5.), L. Wilson, K. Simpson and Mrs Blanche. A euchre party was held in Perreau’s rooms last night for the Farmers’ Queen candidate, there being a good attendance. The first prize for the ladies went to Mrs Parker and the gents to Mr Wishart. The “booby” prizes were awarded to Mrs Short! and Mr A. Francis respectively.
