CARNIVAL NOTES.
The Citizens’ Queen Committee are holding a Shop Day to-day. This evening the Citizens’ Cpm.mittee are holding a Dance in the Masonic Hall. Results of shop day competitions will he announced. Music by Hori George. The prices of admission are only 1/6 and 2/-. On Wednesday next the Citizens’ Committe -will hold an “Old and Present-time” Dance in the Masonic Hall.
On Monday) evening the Farmers’ Queen Committee will hold a euchre party in Perreau’s rooms. Good prizes. In connection with the Farmers’ Shop Day ,oh Saturday next, a butter sponge competition will be conducted. Particulars arc in the advertisement. On Monday, August 9th, a Five Hundred evening will be held by the Citizens’ Committee. A euchre party was held on Tuesday for the Fibre Queen Candidate, there being a good attendance. The ladies first and second prizes went to Mrs Martin and Miss E. Moore respectively, and the gents to Mr. P. Ellis and Mr. R. Easton. A box of chocolates drawn for was won by E. Coley. A children’s party was held in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday, for the Citizens’ Queen Candidate, games and dancing being indulged in, and ajxleasant time spent by the children.
A pleasant afternoon was spent at’the residence of Mrs Heasman on Thursday afternoon for the Farmers’ Queen candidate. A dainty afternoon tea was enjoyed by those present. Competitions were won by Mrs Owen (Margarine) and Miss E. King (leaves of plants).
