LIST FOR NEXT SESSION.

The Palmerston North Supreme Court quarterly session is set down to commence next Tuesday. There is an appreciable increase in the criminal calendar as compared with the two previous sessions, although these cases are spread over the district and do not all occur in Palmerston North. There are six accused, against whom there are thirteen charges, one being attempted murder. There is a shorter divorce list than usual, but the civil calendar is about the same.

Criminal cases: Herbert Michael Bailey, causing death of person by alleged negligent driving of a motor-cycle. A male (accused name suppressed in Lower Court), alleged forgery and uttering (two charges). Edith M. Smith, alleged forgery and uttering and conspiracy with others to defraud. Ernest Taniwha Sutherland, alleged attempted murder, assault causing actual bodily harm, and arson. Hector Mark Perreau, alleged breaking, entering and theft (three charges). Clifford Harris Thompson, alleged theft of geese (two charges). Civil cases (before judge atyne): Ngapera Taneki v. Alice McDonald, claim for £6OO 18s Gd., being £597 15s 6d. rent allegedly due under lease and £3 3s half valuation fee. Stewart Gibson v. Midland Brewery Co., Ltd. Claim for £122 damages for alleged wrongful dismissal (removed from Magistrate’s Court). Thomas H. Jones v. Manawatu “Daily Times” C'o., Ltd. Claim for £5 alleged arrears of salary, £3O 6s Bd. damages for alleged wrongful dismissal, £27 damages for holidays allegedly not allowed (removed from Magistrate’s Court). Peter B. Bartholomew and David Stuart Mackenzie v. Mare Muruahi. Claim for possession and mesne pofits. Mr. H. Hart and G. W. Bundle. Claim for £ISOO damages for alleged misrepresentation of takings of hotel. Archibald John Dale McArthur v. Horowhenua County Council . Claim for £SOO damages for injuries received and loss sustained through alleged neglect to light an obstruction on a road. Frederick Spencer Easton v. Moutoa Drainage Board. 'Cjlaim for (a) £IOOO damages for loss sustained through alleged improper draining of plaintiff's land, (b) writ of mandamus compelling defendant board to clean, deepen and cleanse certain drains, (c) that defendant board be restrained from deepening a certain drain. Nora Dalrymple and others v James Hopkins Stevens and Robert Stevens. Claim (a) that defendants be removed from position of-trustees and that trustees be appointed in their stead (b) decree that defendants give account of dealings with estate, (c) that accounts be taken. Ellen Mary Pearce v. Frank Kenneth Pearce, Eric Cecil Pearce and Frank Besley. Originating summons for order for further provision of widow. Stafford Wellington Rapley v. Frederick Bedington Rich and others. Originating summons for other determining rights of parties in respect of real property in estate. Clara May Mingins and Sylvia Merle Mingins v. David William Reid and Frank Ed-win-Moore. Originating summons for order for proper provision for widow and infant child.

In Divorce (before Judge alone). —David Walter Barclay v. Te Arohe Kuiti Barclay and Paora Tawhi; petition for dissolution of marriage on the ground of alleged adultery. William Oscar Larsen v. Olive Melba Larsen; on the ground of alleged failure to comply with a, decree for restitution. Annie Walsh v. George James Walsh; petition for restitution and conjugal rights. James Stuart MacDonald v. Lily Elizabeth MacDonald and Stanley Gordon; motion to make decree nisi absolute.

In addition there are a number of motions for discharge in bankruptcy.
