Foxton D. 11.5. at Foxton, 1.30 p.m. HOROWHENUA DEFEAT MANAWATU. Horowhenua defeated Manawatu at Palmerston North on Saturday by 22 points to S. The game was disappointing from the point of view of fast open football, it for the most part resolving itself into a forward struggle. The visitors scored the only try of the first spell, leading three nil at half-time. On resuming Manawatu showed surprising form and the .backs handled the ball in great style. At this juncture, despite the fact that they were afforded a setback when their opponents increased their points by three, the home team scored a converted try, giving Horowhenua only one point lead. After that the visitors scored successively, Manawatu being unable to stand up to the continued attacks.
