RAILWAY TO THE SEASIDE
Mr Linklater (Manawatu) intends to ask the Minister of Public Wbrks whether he will without delay authorise the extension of the Poxton railway to Manawatu Heads, which is one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in New Zealand In a note the member states that this proposed extension is only three miles in length. It will run over easy country which presents no engineering difficulties so far as construction is concerned. It will, when competed, create a great increase of traffic over the Foxton line, which is not at present on apaying basis, and will prove a boon to the people inland who cannot afford the use of motor-cars to go to. Manawatu Heads.
