TWO PLAYERS INJURED. Sydney, July 8. In addition to the civic reception tendered to the All Blacks, the learn were enthusiastically (welcomed by a large gathering of the general public in the Town Hall. Mr. Wood, president of the New South Wales Union, who presided, said that people would like to sec a British team in .Sydney. It was nearly twenty years since such a team visited Australia, and the local union must support the New Zealand Union’s request that a British team should visit Australia and New Zealand. If that happened lie would like to sec the New Zealand Union send a representative team to play the British team in Sydney. Mr. 11. Leith, the manager, and C. G. Porter, the captain, on rising to reply, received tremendous ovations. Both thanked the public for the exceptionally warm welcome extended to the team. Stevenson and Svenson are both suffering "from knee injuries, and will probably be unable to play on Saturday. The other members of the team arc fit. and well, and are training hard. Sydney, July 9: The All Blacks’ team in the first test against Sydney will be as follows :—Hull-back Stevenson; threequarters, Blake, Cooke, and Elvey; five-eights. Sheen and Nieholls; half, Mill; wing, Porter; forwards, Lomas, Irvine, Harvey, [NT. Brownlie, Finlayson, Stewart and C. Brownlie. The All Blacks arc having dilficntlv in finding a full complement of hacks through (he illness of the following men: —Svenson, boil on knee; Sheen, bronchitis; Robilliard and Stevenson, influenza and injuries to legs. PRIMARY SCHOOL COMPETITION. Foxton primary school met and defeated Shannon primary school in the Austin Banner competition at Shannon this morning by 25 points to 5. Tries for Foxton were scored by B. Coley (3), C. Newson (2) and Francis and Anderson each potted a goal. The scores at halftime were 5 all. In the second spell the local boys had it all their own way.

The following represented Foxton: —11. Newson, C. Newson, Anderson, Francis, Hirini, Chrystall, Matthew, Alexander, D’Alh, Easton, Reader, Robinson, Kennedy and Coley. After the match the local boys were entertained at morning tea.
