SUMMER TIME BILL.
WILL IT BECOME LAW? The division list on Mir. Sidey’s Summer Time Bill, which passed the House of Representatives at 25 minutes past two o’clock this morning, as follows: — Ajyes (35) —Atrnore, Bell, Bellringer, Buddo, J. S. F, Rolleston, Savage, Seddon, Sidey, Smith, Sullivan, Sykes, Tapley, Veitch, Waite, Walter, Wright, and Young. Noes (18)—Bitchener, Bollard, Coates, J. Me C. Dickson, Elliot, Field, Glen, A. Hamilton, Hawken, Hockly", Hunter, Linklater, Lysnar, McLeod, Reid, J. C. Rolleston, Samuel, Williams. Pairs—For: Wilford, W. D. Stewart, Nos worthy, E. P. Lee, J. Lee, Dickie, Armstrong; against, Forbes, Anderson, Pomare, J. Hamilton, Rhodes, Campbell, Burnett. It remains now to be seen what the fate of the bill will be in the Legislative Council. In 17 years the bill has been introduced 15 times and only on one previous occasion was Mr. Sidey successful in getting it through all its stages. He then had a majority of 12 on the third reading, but it was thrown out by the Upper Chamber. The majority against it, however, was only three. Mr. Sidey has had many congratulations on his present success.
