THE LATE MRS C. H. SYMONS.
The funeral of the late Mrs C. H. Symons took place this afternoon, and was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives _ ' from all parts of the district, the cortege of motor cars extending the length of Main St. An impressive service was held at All Saints’ Church, by the vicar Rev. W. H. Walton, assisted by the Rqv. G. Y. Wloodward, late vicar of Foxton, and now of Karori_parish, Wellington. The casket was covered with beautiful floral tributes. The Rev. Air. Woodward said he had come from Wiellington to join with those present in paying a tribute of love and respect to the memory of one who for many years had done a great work in this district. The late Airs Symons was a loyal and true Christian woman, one who lived her Christianity in her daily life. Although in days gone by she lived some distance from distance from some distance from the town, she was a regular attendant and an earnest and devout communicant and a great church worker, and the parish was indebted to her energy arid zeal. In eases of distress and sorrow she was ever willing to help and there were many to-day wlio blesed her name. To her friends she was ever staunch and true. With St. Paul it could lie said that she had finished her course and had departed to a fuller and wider life in God’s holy keeping. At the conclusion of the service the “Dead March in Saul” was played on the organ and the remains of the deceased were then i taken lo the local cemetery, where the interment took place. The pall-bearers were Alessrs D. Christie, Tyer, W. Nye, R. N. Speirs, E. J. Mnrphy and A. P. Easton.
