The opossum trapping season opens on the 20th July and closes on the 31st of August, both days inclusive. The ten licenses granted by the Ohinemuri Licensing Committee have been allotted as follows: — AYai, 4; Paeron, 4; AYaikinn, 1; Kcrepuh'i, 1. It has been calculated that all the work of the world could be done in a four-hour working day — if all the idlers would work. That rep. fixtures should be arranged in both the third and fourth grades, to stimulate the interest of promising young footballers, was the opinion expressed by Mr. AY. Seville at the weekly meeting of the Horowhenua District Rugby Management Committee. It was, observed Mr. Neville, in these grades that the Committee had to look for the players of to-morrow, and they should be given the incentive to play good and better football. The question is to be given careful consideration.
