ALLEGED BETTING BY REFEREES.

At the previous meeting of the Horowhenua Referees Association Mr. J. Sciascia, reported I lie circulation of rumours in connection with alleged betting by a referee. At the time it was stated .that the rumours were causing the Referees’ Association some concern, and Mr. Sciascia was asked to produce definite evidence of the occurrence. At Monday night’s meeting Mr. Sciascia advised that lie had been unable to secure further proof in substantiation of what had previously been reported, and there appeared no foundation in the statements made.

The subject has .been allowed to lapse.
