The Manawatu A and B representative teams will play the Pahiatua representative teams at Paliiatua to-day. , Misses R. Barber (centre half) and B. Gower (right half) are the locals selected in the B team with Mrs Arcus as emergency. i The local ladies played and defeated Longburn at the latter’s ground on Wednesday and won by (i to nil. The Longburn team played with three players short and in the first spell were overrun, six goals being registered against them before half-time was sounded. With the addition of one player to their ranks in the second spelt, they ...laved a sound defensive game and successfully withstood repeated attacks. The work of the losers’ goalie was especially hue. The scorers were Misses M. Vertongen (3), F. Wilson, (2), and E. Patterson (11. Mr. W. Scott refereed.
