RACING.
OTAKI MEETING. A large crowd, graced the lawns at the Otaki Maori Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday. The track was in good order and several of the events furnished tine finishes. The tote took £19,(100, or £5,478 10s more than the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £44,(371, as against £34,074 10s last year, an increase of £10,590 10s. Results
Pukehou Hack Hurdles. —Sottana 1, Taitaiata 2, Axle 3. Won by half a length. Time, 2.59 2-5. Tainui Hack Handicap. —Hypnotic 1, Joy Bird 2, Royal Land 3. Won by one and a-half lengths. Time, 1.18. Huia Handicap.— Euphonium 1, Shining Armour 2, Olympic 3. Won bv a head each way. Time, 1.58 2-5.
Rangiuru Hack Handicap.—Julia 1, Subjection 2, Mountain Jean 3. Won by a long neck. Time, 1.31 1-5.
Taipua Handicap.— Orchid 1, Iluikai 2, Mneusonta 3. Won by a neck. Time, 1.37. Ohau Hack Welter. —Capt. Gazley 1, Takaroa 2, Our Jack: W. H. Bowden’s b.g., syrs., 9.4 (W. McEwan) 3. Won by half a length. Time, 1.28 1-5.
