SEVEN-A-SIDE RUGBY.

The annual seven-a-side tournament was held in Palmerston North on Thursday in glorious weather. The playing areas were in excellent condition. The competitions were won as under: — Senior (Thompson-Payne Cup). —Kia Toa A. (1925 winners Old Boys A). Junior (Rogers Cup).—Hutt, (1925 winners High School). Thirds (Hunter-Will Cup. —Western United (1925 winners, 1 eilding Old Boys). Primary (Boon Cup.) Manchester street, Peilding. (1925 winners Lytton Street, Peilding). Detailed results are as below:— PRIMARY SCHOOLS. First Round: —Terrace End A 9, College street, nil. Central A G, P.N. Convent nil. Foxton 11, CenB. nil. Lytton street 3. Rongotea B nil. Rongotea A 17, Howkohitu nil. Bunnythorpe-Taonui 21 Feilding Convent nil. Longburn-Rangi-otu G, Ashhurst nil. West End 29, Terrace End B nil. Manchester street 19, Terrace End A nil. Tries were scored for Foxton by B. Coley, D. Kennedy, C. Anderson, one of which was converted by C. Anderson.

Second Round: —Central A 7, Foxton nil. Rongotea A 8, Lytton street nil. Longburn-Rangiotu 6, Bunnythorpe-Taonui 3. Manchester street IG, West End nil. Semi-Final: —Rongotea 3, CenIral nil. Manchester street 9, Longburn-Rangiotu nil. In the Jinal Manchester Street (Feilding) defeated Rongotea by 8 points to nil. THIRD GRADE.

First Round:—High School 9, Old Boys G. Foxton 3, West End Old Boys nil. Western United 21, Miranui nil. Kia Toa won bv default from Woodvillc. Bunnythorpe 8, Kia Toa A 3. St. Pat’s. A 12, W.E.0.8. B nil. Otaki College 8, Oriental 3. Ilutt G, Technical 3. High School 3, P.N. St. Pat’s B. nil.

J. Williams secured the only try for Foxton.

Second Round :—Western United 3, Foxton nil. Bunnythorpe 14, Kia Toa B. nil. St. Pat’s. A 11 Hutt 3. Otaki College 8, High School nil. Semi-Finals: —St. Pat’s. A 14, Otaki College 3. Western United 3, Bunnythorpe nil. Western United won the final, defeating St. Pat’s, by 7 —3. No Junior team was entered in the tournament, which resulted in a win for the Hutt team.

The Senior matches resulted in a win for Kia Toa. Foxton was not represented in this grade.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Council Tokomaru Juniors protested against Hui Mai having included an ex-llauraki Plains senior player in their ranks in the Tokomaru-Tlui Mai game on Saturday. It is alleged that Bilberry, the player referred to, played senior football in his old district this season.

The matter is to be investigated, Silberry will stand down in the meantime.

It was decided that all matches, other than senior, scheduled to take place on June 19th, which is the date of the Manawatu-Horo-v,-henna rep. match, are to be postponed. In this connection it was decided that the third grade Wanderers —Foxton match shall be played as a curtain-raiser to the principle game.

Piper, a Hui Mai junior player, was fined 2s fid for having worn a wrong jersey in the Hui-Mai — Weraroa junior game on Saturday. Messrs T. and \Y. Young have donated a trophy for competition between Maori and Pakelia rep. teams in the Horowhenua district each year. Following a dieussion it was decided to play the first match on Wednesday, June 9th, at Levin. In the ensuing three years Otaki, Foxton and Shannon will draw for the game, after which it will again fall to Levin, and to the three other towns according to the ballot result.

Mr. Rinnner proposed a cordial vote of thanks to Messrs T. and \\. Young, for the trophy.
