MANAWATU LICENSING COMMITTEE.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Manawatu Licensing Committee was held in the Court House on Wednesday, presided over by Mr. .J. L. Stout, S.M. (chairman. Also present were Messrs. J. K. Hornblow, J. H. Perritt, J. F. Walker and J. Curran. Constable Owen, clerk of the Licensing Bench, conducted proceedings on. behalf of the Police. NEW LICENSES. The following were granted new licenses: — J. McKenna, Manawatu hotel, Eoxton; L. W. Cross, Junction hotel, Sanson. The new license in respect of the Levin Hotel (J.i'Elleray),!Levin, was held over for three months in order that repairs to the roof may be effected. TRANSFERS. Transfers were granted from Barry and O’Leary to J. McKenna, Manawatu hotel, Foxton, and from L. W. Cross, Junction hotel, Sanson, to F. Gomez. The clerk was also instructed to communicate with the health officer and local police re inspection of public conveniences at Levin hotels. RENEWALS. The police report being favourable, new licenses were granted to the following:— W. Speechley, Endymion Hotel, Awahuri; 11. J. D. McManaway, Raugitikei Hotel, Bulls; A. Smith, Post Office Hotel, Eoxton; R. McMullian, Family Hotel,. Eoxton; C. O. Price, Criterion Hotel, Bulls; T. P. Moynihan, Manawatu Club Hotel, Shannon; J. Curran, Albion Hotel, Shannon; W. Kirkland, (Mr. Bergin) Whyte’s Hotel, Eoxton. W. Bull Ltd., Levin, (Mr. Bergin) was granted a wholesale wine and spirit merchant’s license. The chairman congratulated the licensees of the district on the way in which they had conducted their hotels. The police report was satisfactory throughout the district and he hoped that the present conditions would be continued.
