' The heaviest average rainfall in the world occurs on the Malabar coast. Wireless provides work directly for about 40,000 people in Great Britain. A radium speck, valued at over £IOO, was inadvertently sent to the incinerator from an Auckland hospital with the bandages of a patient who was being treated. V hen the loss was discovered, the debris from the incinerator was collected and sent to the University, where exhaustive efforts are being made to trace the radium. Tests already made, reveal the presence of radium in the debris. A case of radio libel was started lately in Chicago, U.S.A. while lis-tening-in at his home, the Illinois Stale Attorney was amazed to hear a wireless announcement from the Moulin Rouge Cabaret declare that lie was amongst the guests of the cabaret, enjoying the music and the companionship of the lady guests. He immediately sent out instructions to the police authorities and a squad of detectives within five minutes had raided the cabaret and made five arrests. The State Attorney announced subsequently that he was filing a libel suit against the announcer and the cabaret authorities.
