CHURCH PARADE.

* MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS TO ATTEND.. At the conclusion of business at Tuesday’s special meeting of the Borough Council the Mayor extended an invitation to all the Councillors to attend the Presbyterian Church with him at the morning service on Sunday week. In doing so he said that no doubt the idea was new to Foxton, but it was a cus tomary thing in larger centres for the Councillors to accompany the Mayor of the town to church on at least one occasion during his term of office. It was an admirable thing, he said, and he would like to sec it adopted in Foxton. In further outlining the scheme the Mayor said that it was his intentions to ask the borough employees to attend the service also, accompanied by the Silver Band and Fire Brigade. They would assemble at the Council Chambers and march down to the Church.
