FOXTON FOOTBALL CLUB.

COMMITTEE MEETING. A committee meeting of the Foxton Football Club was held in Wlalls’ rooms on Tuesday night. Present: Messrs H. Hutchins (chairman),' F. A. Mason, .J. K. Hornblow, C. Proctor and R. McMurray, Andresen, Cook. A telegram was received from Berhampore team, Wellington, asking if the local Juniors were journeying to Wellington on June 3rd to play the Berhampore team. The chairman reported that the local Juniors were unable to get a team together to make the trip, and it was decided to wire Berhampore to this effect.

The chairman reported that Mr. Petrie had approached him on behalf of the Fox ton Cribbage Club and suggested that the Football Club should arrange cribbage tournaments in order to raise funds for the erection of dressing sheds on the racecourse.

After discussion it was decided that the matter be left in the hands of the Chairman with power to act. Mr. Hornblow brought up the question of re-erecting the barrier at the local race-course. As a result of this fence being down spectators continually trespassed on the playing area during matches. He suggested that the expense incurred in doing this work be deducted from the gate receipts. It was decided to have the work done and charge same to the Union. The work to be done before next Saturday.

It was reported that the Tennis club shed was not suitable for removal to the racecourse for a dressing shed. It was decided that three teams be nominated for the seven-a-side tournament in Palmerston North on June 3rd (Seniors, Juniors and Thirds). The state school is also placing a team in the field.

The team to represent the Foxton Seniors will be picked from .the following:— Taylor, Moses, Fuller, Proctor, Kiriona, Hirini, Hakaraia, Thompson, Burdis, O’Reilly, Krivishanko, McDonald, Cresswell, Andrews, Lorimer, Westwood. Roberts, captain of the Shannon Seniors, broke a small bone in his right foot, while playing against Wanderers at Shannon last Saturday.
