MARCH WORKING.

The amount of gas manufactured during the month of March was 413,300 ft., which with the amount in the holder on March Ist., 10,400 feet, made a total of 423,700 ft. During the month 359,300 ft. woie used by consumers, 20,000 at the works and there was 14,000 in the holder on April Ist, making a total of 393,300 ft., and leaving 30,400 ft. representing 7.27 unaccounted for. Thirty-eight tons of coal was carbonised yielding 10860 c.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 7 tons 12 cwt of coke.

The earnings for the month totalled £209 7s 5d and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £43 2s 7d, heat and power £lll 5s 3d, coke sales £42 15s 2d, tar sales 13/-, fittings £lO 5s 6d, miscellaneou £1 5s lid. The expenditure for the month totalled £231 5s 9d and was made up as follows. —Coal £lO7 19s 10d, wages £52, insurance £7 10s Od, cartage and freight £2 4s 3d, Power Board £2, interest and sinking fund £59 11s Bd.
