GIRL GUIDES SHOP DAY.
The shop will be open between 3 and 4 p.m. tomorrow to receive goods for Saturday. A well-known local cake-maker is “doing her bit” by baking a choice assortment of cakes, biscuits and scones. Anything that is of use will be appreciated. A big pot of beautiful asparagus fern, books, magazines and poultry have been promised. Buy a lawn-mower instead of borrowing your neighbour’s. Good value dips for children. No guessing or competitions — straightout sales and every article marked at a low price. Donations from sympathisers will be gratefully received. Anyone can become a member of the Association by paying 2/0 per year. Come along and help the Girl Guides who are going to guide girls. The committee has_ promised to help those girls who cannot find their own equipment.
