EXHIBITION ENDS.
Dunedin, Ma.y 2. The lights of Logan Park winked out for the last time last night, after 83,935 visitors had attended, making the total 3,200,498. The closing ceremony was performed by the Hon. J. G. Coates, Prime Minister, the other speakers being Mr. J, Sutherland Ross (chairman of directors) and Mr. 11. L. Tapley (Mayor). An apology was received from the GovernorGeneral and Lady Alice Fergusson. A message of congratulation from the King was read by Mr. Coates. Trains brought over 6000 visitors. Rain fell, all day and night, but made little difference. The City was full, the traffic being the heaviest on record in Dunedin. There were no accidents or unruly crowds. The City subsided on Sunday morning, after the greatest day in its history. The band was received rousingly, and Mr Coates also got a great reception.
